Public Apology From M Faizal B M Sharin
November 18, 2008
Dear Ms Azlinawati Rajaee,
I would like to say I am very very sorry to you and your family for mentioning your name without your permission in one of my past entry in this here blog.
I am made to understand that due to my actions, it had caused your good self and your family great grievance and personal hurt — which this apology would never be able to heal or to compensate.
For this, I am truly sorry, and I am deeply remorseful for my insensitive actions.
Dear all readers,
I would like to clearly state that none of the things which were written using Ms Azlinawati Rajaee’s good name was true or had ever taken place. It was with unfettered liberty and uncaring verbosity in my part, in the name of fiction writing, that I have used her actual full name in the course of that blog entry.
This was done not with malicious intent (niat jahat) to shame or to ridicule her in person. It was a fictionalized statement mentioned in passing in the entry, written for my own selfish gain in pursuing a “good story”.
Its consequences were not well thought-off, it was an insensitive remark, and it was done in a manner which posed itself to be truthful — even though it is not, and I clearly repeat to emphasize that it is not true and it had never taken place.
It is my biggest mistake to have assumed that those who read my blog would be, at some bare minimum level, educated enough to tell which is fiction and which is the truth, and that they would know to take everything that they read off the Internet with “a grain of salt” (i.e. not to blindly accept and believe something without copious amount of doubt, skepticism or reservation).
It simply goes to show that the majority of those who read my blog and then would go about sensationalizing what they have read, are first-class morons.
Dear Ms Azlinawati Rajaee,
To correct this great wrong and to clear your and your family’s good name and reputation, in my capacity as the author-owner of this blog, this page (”Public Apology”) will be left as is, on the front page, for indefinite duration of time.
All these words do not convey the regret that I feel upon knowing how painful you must have felt from the things which have befallen you or which have been said by others of you, that were caused by my insensitive and selfish actions.
For this, I am truly sorry.
Signed, M Faizal B M Sharin
